Carol Nip of Albany Armada Masters (ALB) was selected as the Pacific Masters Swimming Coach of the Year. This multi-faceted and coveted award reflects a coach's ability to inspire skill and ability, build a vigorous and healthy team, perform outstanding service, and contribute professionally through clinics and published works.

Coach Carol formed her team at the then brand-new Albany pool in 2012 and is a USMS Level 3 Certified Coach. She is cherished for her individualized approach in working with each swimmer on her team. The Albany team truly appreciates all that Coach Carol does, whether it is getting them competition-ready, ready to swim the butterfly or just plain ready to swim.

Coach Carol recently hosted the fun and successful “Splash and Dash” sprint pentathlon in Richmond, is regularly seen on deck hosting or volunteering at clinics, and is part of the team that writes our Pac Masters online updates. She is just a few weeks away from logging enough deck time to achieve Level 4 USMS coaching certification.

In addition to coaching masters, Coach Carol is the head coach of the Albany High School swim team and has published several articles about preventing injuries and gaining speed: http://www.usms.org/people/03VT1.

Congratulations Coach Carol Nip, Pacific Masters Swimming 2017 Coach of the Year!
