PACIFIC MASTERS MONTHLY MEETING
The Pacific Masters Swimming May  monthly meet will be Wednesday, 
September 25th the Oak Hill Park Community Center in Danville. All 
members are welcome to attend.

SAN MATEO MASTER MARLINS PENTATHLON
The San Mateo Master Marlin's Pentathlon will be September 29 at the 
Joinville Swimming Pool in San Mateo.

1500 M FREESTYLE SCM CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 1500 Meter Freestyle Championships will be held Saturday October 
5th in Healdsberg.

SACRAMENTO PENTATHLON
The Sacramento Pentathlon will be Sunday October 6th in Davis. 
Pre-entry Deadline is September 26th.

SHORT COURSE METERS CHAMPIONSHIPS
Walnut Creek will be hosting the 2002 Pacific Masters Short Course 
Meters Championships at the Heather Farms pool October 12 and 13. You 
must pre-enter this meet by September 30th.

2003 LOCAL MEETS
Marcia Benjamin, the scheduling chair, has sent out the 2003 
scheduling forms to all clubs. If you club is interested in holding a 
Pacific Masters meet - Short Course Yards, Short Course Meters or 
Long Course Yards. Please be sure to fill out the forms and return 
the forms to Marcia. If you want to hold a local meet and have not 
received a sets of forms, please contact Marcia Benjamin at

SHORT COURSE YARDS CHAMPIONSHIPS IN TEMPE
Mark Gill the meet director of the USMS 2003 Short Course Yards 
Championships at ASU, said that ASU will be having its graduation on 
the same weekend as the National Championships. If you plan on going 
to the national championships, you should make your reservations NOW. 
The date of Nationals are May 15-18, 2003

BECOME AN OFFICIAL
The latest clinic will be in Davis, after the Saturday session of the 
Davis Aquadarts B Meet, on September 28th.  We should have a better 
idea of the time when we get all of the meet entries and find out the 
time line.

It will be held in the room adjacent to the pool, at the Davis 
Community Park on West 14th Street, in Davis. If you need

WHAT IS PACIFIC MASTERS?
Pacific Masters Swimming is a regional organization that provides 
organized workouts, competitions, clinics and workshops for adults 18 
and over. Programs are open to all adult swimmers fitness, triatlete, 
competitive, non-competitive) who are dedicated to improving their 
fitness through swimming.

Pacific is organized with over 100 clubs in Northern California and 
Nevada. Membership numbers over 9700, with individual members ranging 
in age from 18 to over 90.

Within the clubs, structured workouts, often with a coach, offer 
well-though-out training assistance, Pool and open-water races 
provide opportunities to compete and measure individual progress at 
the local, state, national and international levels, USMS programs 
also offer stroke and technique clinics, workshops and instructions, 
as well as social functions.

All Pacific Masters programs are designed to help swimmers improve 
fitness and/or train for specific goals, and offer active support for 
a healthy lifestyle through friendship, and camaraderie.

END OF YEAR FEE REDUCTION
Beginning September 1st, the late-in-the year reduced rate 
registration fee is $15. normally refunds are not made to clubs and 
swimmers sending in $25 unless requested, because it creates extra 
work for our (volunteer) Treasurer. Registrations for 2003 will be 
taken beginning November 1st, 2002. Get your friends to join Pacific 
Masters - Also remember that all swimmers must be members of Pacific 
Masters for your practice to be covered by USMS secondary insurance.
