PACIFIC MASTERS COACH OF THE YEAR
The nomination period for the Pacific Masters 2003 Coach of the Year
is almost at an end. If you want to nominate your coach for Coach of
the Year, please send your nominations to:

You may also send your nomination and supporting documents by email
to chairman at pacificmasters.org (please send it by 4 pm wednesday).
Pacific Masters Swimming recognize and honor these men and women who
toil for their swimmers with the Coach-of-the-Year award. The
selection criteria is as follows: The Coach of the Year is
selected on the basis of inspirational and instructional qualities;
club and individual accomplishments including championships and world
records; and non-competitive club and individual accomplishments
including club size and growth, club participation, volunteering, and
events run by the club; and the coach's service to PMS, USMS and
other Masters organizations, participation in clinics, and published
works.
To nominate your coach, provide a nomination letter listing his or
her accomplishments and a maximum of four letters from your teammates
supporting your nomination. Coach-of the-Year-Award Nominations are
due by the next Pacific Masters Meeting - May 28th.

The regular monthly meeting of Pacific Masters will be Wednesday May

http://www.damfast.org. Registration process can either be done
on-line or entry forms can be downloaded and mailed in.
For those mailing in registration and fees, the deadline for early
registration is May 21, 2003. We are expecting another great race
day,with lunch being prepared once again this year by Dos Coyotes
Border Cafe serving a healthy, southwestern cuisine.
LONG COURSE METERS
The first of three long course meets is the Walnut Creek Invitational
on June 13th and 14th. The 800 M Freestyle has to be preregistered.
All the other events, which are on the 14th may be deck entered.
SANTA CRUZ PIER TO PIER SWIM USMS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
This years Santa Cruz Pier to Pier Swim will be the United States
Masters Swimming 10K National Championship.

INVITE YOUR FRIENDS
Swimming is one of the best exercises for adults. Invite your friends
to work out with you. Members are ambassadors for the sport. Help
Pacific make 11,000 members this year.
