OPEN PACIFIC MASTERS MEETING
After the USF Valentines affair meet on February 7th, there will be 
an open Pacific Masters Swimming meeting. Many from the Pacific 
Masters Swimming Committee will be there to answer questions about 
the committee and how the committee works, the X FINA Masters World 
Championships 2004 will also be discussed. Refreshments will be 
served. You can ask questions about the annual schedule, the 
championships, the order of events at Pacific Masters meets, the 
status of the FINA World Championships or what ever you want. ALL 
members are encouraged to attend.

USF VALENTINE DAYS MEET - PRE ENTRY MEET ENTRY DUE
The 12th Annual USF Valentines Day meet will be held Saturday, 
February 7th at the Koret Recreation Center on the USF Campus. The 
USF meet features 50s and 200s. It is a great meet for sprinters and 
distance stroke swimmers. Deadline is Jan 28th.

1650 POSTAL
Tamalpias Aquatic Masters is sponsoring two events:  the Postal 1650. 
Both events can be done at your home pool. The 1650, by the February 
29th (an extra day this year).

RELAY MEET CHANGE OF DATE
The San Mateo Master Marlins Relay meet will NOT be on February 22nd. 
The new date for the San Mateo Master Marlins meet is February 29.

RESULTS
The Olympic Club Mile
The Results of the Olympic Club Mile have been posted on the web 
site. Suzanne Heim Bowen and Tod Spieker both broke the mile record 
in their respective age groups. Suzanne Heim-Bowen  swam the distance 
in 18:06.78, breaking Laura Val's record by a minute.

Tod Spieker swam the 66 laps in 17:58.73 breaking the old standard by 
over a minute.

Thanks to Scott Williams and the Olympic Club for putting on the 
event. This was the last time it was held at USF's Koret Recreation 
Center. Next year, the Olympic Club will host The Mile in their own 
new facilities.

FOG CITY QUADRATHON
The Fog City Quardrathon was held Sunday February 1st at the Herbst 
Natatorium on the St Ignatius College Preparatory Campus. Thanks to 
Diane Davis and the Fog City Masters for putting on the event.

PACIFIC MASTERS OFFICE CLOSED Jan 31- Feb 5
The Pacific Masters Swimming office will be closed from January 31 
through February 5 while Nancy attends the Masters Training at the 
Olympic Training Center, Colorado Springs, CO. If you need any 
registration card or information, please contact her before the 30th 
or after the 5th.

TIME TO RENEW FOR 2004
It is time to renew your Pacific Masters/United States Masters 
Swimming membership. When you renew you will continue your 
subscription to Swim Magazine, continue to receive your Pacific 
Masters Swimming newsletter and you have the privilege of 
participating in any Pac Masters and USMS sanctioned postal, pool, 
open water event or clinic. Your membership fee also pays for a 
central Pacific Masters Office to answer any of your swimming 
questions, toll free access to the USMS National Office 
(800-550-SWIM), It also pays for the Pacific Master website. Your 
renewal does help.
