UPCOMING MEETS
October 8th, 9th and 10th is the Pacific Masters
Swimming 2004 Short Course Meter Championships be
organized by the Walnut Creek Masters. There are no
deck entries, but you can cheer your team mates on.

Mountain View Masters is sponsoring the Alan Liu
Memorial swim on Sunday October 24th  Eagle Pool in
Mountain View.

Tuolumne County Aquatic Masters is having its first
Short Course Yards meet, Saturday October, 30th and
the first SCY meet of the season. This meet will be
held in Sonora, California This is the first Masters
meet in Sonora, California and we wish them well.

RESULTS
The results for the Tuolomne County Aquatic Masters
Open Water Swim at Pinecrest    have been posted. All
of the open water results for the 2004 open water
season have been posted.

Thanks to all the meet directors and volunteers who
have labored so hard so that the open water swimmers
have the best competitive conditions that we can give
to them. Also thanks to Cindy Clements, the Open Water
Chairman who works closely with the meet directors
during the season and to Allan Cartwright, the trailer
guy, who takes care of the trailer and open water
equipment.

PACIFIC MASTERS SWIMMER CONQUERS THE ENGLISH CHANNEL
Laura Collette,  Pacific Masters swimmer and software
engineer from the south bay, swam the English Channel
last week. She crossed the channel in 14 hr 29 min.
Congratulations to Laura.

USMS CONVENTION
NANCY RIDOUT USMS REP TO FINA MASTERS COMMITTEE
Nancy Ridout was voted to the FINA Masters Committee.
Nancy, currently our Pacific Masters registrar, has
been the USMS President, Vice President and Secretary.
She will represent the represent the United State to
the FINA Masters Committee. She is replacing June
Krauser, who has retired from the committee.

IV SOUTH AMERICAN  SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS 
The IX South American Swimming  Short Course Meter
Masters Championships will be in Lima, Peru, November
22 - 25, 2004. (Next month). Swimmers from the United
States can swim there and medal, but they cannot score
points. Information about the meet may be found at

(the web site is in Spanish) For those who do not read
Spanish - go to Google.com then put that have the
search engine look up the web site - the search engine
will ask if you want the web site translated to
English.

(I met the organizer of the meet at the recent US
Masters Swimming Convention and he is encouraging US
Masters swimmers to compete.)

OFFICIALS CLINIC IN BURLINGAME
To All,  Burlingame Aquatic Club will be hosting a
stroke and turn clinic in a classroom by their pool. 
The room is 502 at Burlingame High School and the
start time is 6:00 PM.  You can go to the pool and ask
the coaches where the room is.  Coaches please tell
all of your parents about the clinic.  It is for
parents and swimmers  who wants to learn how to become
an official or officials that need a refresher course.

2004 FINA WORLD SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS SCM
The 2004 FINA World Swimming Championships SCM are
being held this week at Conseco Fieldhouse,
Indianapolis, Indiana. Many of the worlds top swimmers
will compete there. The meet organizers had to build a
temporary 25 meter pool in two weeks so the
competition could take place. More information is at:
