LAST CALL FOR MASTERS SWIMMERS
SWIM FOR MALARIA
OR SWIM AGAINST MALARIA

Olympian Janet Evans to be there

Details for Saturday's "Swim for Malaria" at Stanford's Avery
Aquatic Center from 10:00am to 1:00pm.

Belardi pool opens to swimmers at 10am for lap swimming. Swimmers
should enter on West side of the pool - follow the blue "Swim for
Malaria" signs.

Olympic champion and world record holder Janet Evans who serves on
the athletes committee for FINA will speak at about 10:30, followed
by an info session about the 2006 FINA World Masters Championships at
Stanford in August. Coach Tim Edmonds will demonstrate good starting
techniques and swimmers will be able to try out the Stanford starting
blocks - an opportunity to swim in the pool that will host the
Masters World Championships. (The Stanford blocks are set at the
maximum height from the water - .75 Meters - one should dive from
them to get the experience of diving from very high starting blocks).

Swim for Malaria is sponsored by the 2006 Local Organizing Committee,
Stanford Masters Swimming and Speedo. All participants will receive
a Speedo "Swim for Malaria" cap - plus a great time and a
contribution to an important cause.

There will be mosquito netting on display so you can see what $5.00 will buy.

For early registration, call 650.856.3200 or email
mailto:anne at 2006finamasters.org. Checks to be made out to Swim for
Malaria - there are information sheets posted at various positions
around the pool area.
