The XI FINA World Masters Championships need a surveyor to measure
one of the pools at the Avery Aquatic Center at Stanford University.

STRAWBERRY CANYON INVITATIONAL
The Strawberry Canyon Meet will be on Sunday, March 19th 2006 at the
Spieker Pool, University of California, Berkeley, California. You can
deck enter. this is the last meet before championships.

PACIFIC MASTERS SHORT COURSE YARDS CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Pacific Masters 2006 Short Course Yards Championships will be
held at Pleasanton and will be hosted by TriValley Masters and Walnut
Creek Masters on 7-9 April. They would like swimmers to enter

Is there anyone who would like to create a podcast for the FINA
Master Championships that will show the Stanford Avery Aquatic
Facility. It would be a great way to show the fantastic facility

RESULTS RINCONADA MASTERS MEET
Many thanks to the Rinconada Masters for holding the Reconada Spring
Masters Meet. Jim Shaw, Carol MacPherson, and the Rinconada Masters
for putting on the meet. The weather was cool, but there was no rain

MONTHLY MEETING MARCH 15, 2005
Pacific Masters regular meeting will be the 15th of March at the
Heather Farms, Walnut Creek, California. the meeting start at 7:30.

The minutes for the all meeting from 2005 are posted, including the
November annual meeting. The minutes for the November Annual meeting
have been posted on the Pacific Masters web site.

USMS ADVERTISES FOR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR POSITION
USMS is currently accepting applications for an Executive Director.
The deadline for applications is April 7th. Please check the
Mar/April issue of USMS Swimmer for more information (pages 8 and
38). More information will be made available on www.usms.org in the
near future.

An article about the upcoming FINA World Masters Championships by
Mike Ashley is in the current issue of the USMS Swimmer. If you have

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
Pacific Masters honors it volunteers who have contributed to the
sport of Masters Swimming. There are four awards for volunteers that
are given out at the Pacific Masters Short Course Yards Championships
to be held at Pleasanton.

The four awards are
Contributor of the Year (multiple awards)
Personal Achievement Award (only three)
Distinguished Service award
Appreciation Award
The criteria for the awards are at the end of the Update.

The Pacific Masters Committee voted to extend the deadline.
Nominations are due to Chairman Michael Moore by Pacific Masters
Monthly meeting on March 15th. If you wish to email them (Please

XI FINA WORLD MASTERS CHAMPIONSHIPS
FREE DRAW STRING BAG
The meet book for the XI FINA World Masters Championships is posted
on the 2006 FINA Masters Championships web site.

In the meet book is the entry forms. The first 1000 athletes who
register will receive a quality nylon Drawstring Tote bag with the XI
FINA Masters logo when the are accredited at the meet. It does not
make any difference if you register by mail or on line. This
drawstring tote is make of 210D nylon and will be not be available
for sale. If you register now, you can change your times later
on-line (you have to submit your final entry times by 3 June).

The on-line meet entry system is still be worked on. Please check the
2006 FINA web site on 15 Feb for further update. When the on-line
meet entry system is ready, it will be announced in the Update.

DORM ROOMS
The FINA Worlds Organizing Committee has secured a limited number of
Stanford Dorm rooms. Please note as Stanford says "Dorm Rooms" are
not hotel rooms and Stanford is not in the hotel business. These
rooms are used for students during the academic year and for
conferences during the summer season. More information is at

Want to help with the parties at the 2006 FINA World Championships?

Event planning responsibilities include
1. Liaison with event company and 2006 Local Organizing Committee
2. Oversee marketing efforts and outreach to competitors
3. Recruit volunteers to help with day of event set up,
greeting, and clean up
4. Provide guidance and inspiration for all to have a great time!

4. DIne out in Palo Alto
5. South of the Border Feast

Sacred Heart High School, Atherton, California 22 April.

Santa Clara Swim Club 55 Year Reunion & Tribute to George Haines,
June 23-25, 2006.

This exciting, star-studded extravaganza will coincide with the 39th
Annual International Invitational Swim Meet, which will once again

MISSION VIEJO NADADORES SHORT COURSE YARDS MEET
Mission Viejo Nadadores SCY meet, Sunday 3/26

Mission Viejo will be hosting their Short Course Yards meet on
Sunday, March 26th. The meet will start off with the 500 free and 400
IM, followed by additional warmup and lots of events for the sprinter
(who can sleep in a few hours). The meet will conclude with a Fun Fin
Relay and the 1000 yd free.

The postmark deadline for this meet is Monday, March 20th. Deck
entries are allowed, but pay an additional $10.
