GEORGE F HAINES 1924-2006

George Haines the legendary swim coach of the Santa Clara Swim Club 
and Stanford University died at the convalescent home in Sacramento 
Monday morning where he had been living since suffering a stroke two 
years ago.

While coaching the Santa Clara Swim Club, he helped produce 53 
Olympic swimmers who won 44 gold medals, 14 silver medals and 10 
bronze medals.
