HAPPY NEW YEAR
FOG CITY PENTATHLON
The results of the Fog City Masters Quadrathon have been posted. Many

THE OLYMPIC CLUB MILE (1500M)
The results of the Olympic Club Mile are now posted. Thanks to Scott
Williams, Laureen Welting and the Olympic Club members who worked
hard to make the meet a success.

PACIFIC MASTERS OFFICE CLOSED FOR A WEEK
The Pacific Masters Office will be closed from 2 February through 10
February. If you need any help, be sure to contact Nancy before the
2nd or after the 10th.

FINA AWARD FOR LOCAL CHAIR
Cornel Marculescu, executive director of FINA sent the following to
Michael Moore, "I have the pleasure to inform you that the FINA
Bureau, at the meetings held in September 2006 in Madrid (ESP) has
awarded you the FINA Certificate of Merit.

"The Certificate of Merit has been awarded to you in recognition for
your outstanding contribution for the organisation of the 11th FINA
World Masters Championships - San Francisco 2006.

"Please note that the FINA Awards Ceremony will take place during the
FINA Gala Dinner to be held on 23 March 2007 in Melbourne, Australia
with the occasion of the 12th FINA World Championships 2007."

JON STEINER MEMORIAL MILE (POSTAL)
The Jon Steiner Memorial Mile (Postal) is taking place during the
months of January and February. If you are registered with US Masters
Swimming, you are eligible to compete. Just swim 1650 yards, while
swimming have someone track your times and submit your entry.
Jon was the meet director for the Tamalpias event for many years. He
passed away this year - Tam renamed the mile in his honor. Jon was
one of the good guys - you can use your times from the USMS hour
postal.

MARLINS RELAY MEET
The San Mateo Master Marlins Relay day meet is on 25 February 2007.
There are a few changes from prior years. There is pre-registration
and there will be a late fee forindividuals and teams who register
after 22 February. See the meet sheet for further information.

USF VALENTINES AFFAIR EARLY ENTRY DEADLINE ON WEDNESDAY
The USF Valentines Affair will be on Saturday 10 February, 2007. The
meet will start at 9:00am. the early entry deadline is 31 January
2007.

ASSISTANT COACH NEEDED
Davis Aquatic Masters is looking for an assistant coach to start
immediately. Position includes salary and benefits. For details

EICHLER SWIM CLUB NEEDS COACHES
The Eichler Swim and Tennis Club in Palo Alto is searching for one or
more coaches for the Eichler Gators Swim Team. The season begins in
April and ends in late July. Interested candidates areencouraged to

DAM GOING TO GREECE
DAM is going to Greece from June 18-July 3. There are still openings
for 5 more swimmers. Trip will include a meet and open water swim.
Travel will include Crete, Hydra and Milos islands. Cost
approximately $2,500 all inclusive. Interested swimmers contact Coach

USMS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
USMS is looking for an executive director. Information about the

NEW REGISTRATION YEAR
The 2007 USMS registration year is upon Pacific Masters. All club and
individual registrations expire on 31 December. From 1 November,
clubs and individuals can register for 2007. The individual
membership is $35 / year, the same as 2006 and includes a
subscription to USMS Swimmer Magazine, the Pacific Masters
newsletter. Membership also includes a secondary accident insurance
policy, borrowing privileges from the video library and the privilege
of participating in any of our pool and open water events.

The 2007 individual application is available along with the 2007 Club
and Individual Registration instructions and the Frequently Asked
Questions. All the clubs that have registered by 27 December 06 are
listed at the end of this email. If your club is not registered, the
club is not covered by USMS insurance in 2007. Also all swimmers of
the club must be members of USMS for your club to be covered by
insurance.
