FIRST EVER PAC MASTERS CONFERENCE CALL MEETING
In order to better meet the needs of the membership and to make
meeting attendance more available, the February Pacific Masters
Meeting will be a conference call. The meeting will start at 7:30pm
21 March. If you have not previously attended a meeting and would
like to participate, please contact Nancy Ridout at the Pacific

MARLINS RELAY MEET
The San Mateo Master Marlins Relay day meet is on 25 February 2007.
There are a few changes from prior years. There is pre-registration
and there will be a late fee for individuals and teams who register
after 22 February. See the meet sheet for further information.

BAY AREA SENIOR GAMES
The 2007 Bay Area Senior Games will be held at Stanford University
March 10-11 (Swimming will be held on the 11th of March). You must be
least 50 years old to compete.

At Stanford there will be the 24th Annual Fitness Weekend where there
will be a Health Fair and Exhibition. Early registration deadline is
19 February, final registration is March 3. All invited to
participate.

The 2009 National Senior Games will be held at Stanford in August of

RINCONADA MASTERS SPRING SHORT COURSE MEET
The Rinconada Mastesr Spring meet will be held at the Rinconada Pool
in Palo Alto on March 17th. The pre-entry deadline is 2 March. For
those who have no prior competitive Masters experience there are
three special events: the 50 yard Free, and the 50 yard Back. For
those who are feeling studly, there is the 1650 yard fly. (you must
finish the event within 45 minutes).

The 1000 yard freestyle is the first event, there is no deck entries
for 1000 free only - you must pre-enter.

JON STEINER MEMORIAL MILE (POSTAL)
The Jon Steiner Memorial Mile (Postal) is taking place during the
months of January and February. If you are registered with US Masters
Swimming, you are eligible to compete. Just swim 1650 yards, while
swimming have someone track your times and submit your entry.
Jon was the meet director for the Tamalpias event for many years. He
passed away this year - Tam renamed the mile in his honor. Jon was
one of the good guys - you can use your times from the USMS hour
postal.

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
Pacific Masters honors it volunteers who have contributed to the
sport of Masters Swimming. There are four awards for volunteers that
are given out at the Pacific Masters Short Course Yards Championships
to be held at Santa Cruz.

The four awards are
Contributor of the Year (multiple awards)
Personal Achievement Award (only three)
Distinguished Service award
Appreciation Award
The criteria for the awards are at the end of the Update.
