GO THE DISTANCE
A new fitness event was created this year by the USMS Fitness
Committee. The name of this new challenge is "Go the Distance"!

The objective of this event is for participants to track the distance
they swim during the year 2007. When participants achieve specific
distance milestones of 50 miles, 100 miles, 250 miles, 500 miles, 750
miles and 1000 miles - they will be recognized on the USMS website
and awards will be available for purchase (for a minimal fee).

There is no cost to enter this event. Participants are requested to
email (or use snail mail) to submit the total distance they swim each
month. A list of miles per month and cumulative mileage will be
tabulated for each swimmer. Once a distance milestone is achieved
awards will be available for purchase. They will include swim caps,
certificates, patches and t-shirts with the event logo and the
distance of the milestone achieved.

WHERE ARE THE CLUBS?
I have been working on way to show where the Pacific Masters clubs
are located. I have used maps.google.com and Google earth to show
were the clubs are located. This is a work in progress and not
everything is on the map. Many clubs are not on the map, because the
address that we have for your club is the coaches home address. I did
not want to put that address on the map. There are some clubs that
might not want to be on the map, for different reasons. I would
appreciate it if members of a club would check out the map to be sure
that the pool is in the right place and if you have a website to be
sure that I wrote the URL correctly.

you can cut and paste.

If anyone would like to contribute an icon that is better than the
pins, please send it to me. If your club is not listed and it should
be, send me the information. If someone want to have an icon for open
water swims or for pool swims, create it and we can set that up.
Send the information to:

LINKS TO CLUB'S HOME PAGE
The PacMasters home page now has a link to the PacMasters clubs, well
at least many of the clubs. If you club has a home page and does not
have a link to your home page, please let me know
mailto:chairman at pacificmasters.org (There are a couple of clubs that
have given me links that do not work).
