RESULTS TRANS TAHOE RELAY
The Olympic Club's largest ever 31st Annual Trans Tahoe Relays was
a great success last weekend. One hundred and thirty nine teams
including three solos swimmers completed the approximately 11.5 mile
course across the lake. Unfortunately more than ten teams did not
finish the race, but arrived safely on shore. There was great
weather, and great conditions all the way until the end, where there
was some wind issues. The Olympic Club had 12 teams complete the
race, with five teams finishing in the top ten overall. This has
become the largest swim relay event that crosses state lines in the
country. 900 USMS members entered this race.

HEAD COACH WANTED - SAN MATEO MARLINS
The San Mateo Marlins, the first USMS Master team, is hiring a new
head coach. The Marlins have a 'core' set of 100+ dedicated swimmers
who are interested in swimming for fitness and to satisfy that
occasional nagging urge to compete and win. The Marlins have 20-30
hours of workout/week. This part time position will develop a set of
workout plans and work with assistant staff members to coach the
workouts. The coach is expected to coach 60-70% of the deck workouts
as well as work with San Mateo city and the Marlin team to grow a
robust master programs including coaching support for targeted PMS
open water and meet swims.

San Mateo is a city of 95,000 residents, located midway between San
Francisco and San Jose on the San Francisco Peninsula and enjoys the
moderate weather and beauty of the Bay Area. The Master Marlins swim
at Joinville Swim Center in its 6-lane, 25 meter outdoor pool. Apply
