USF SWIMMER QUALIFIES FOR OLYMPIC TRIALS
Allison Wagner's (age 30, USF) performance at the USA-S Nationals.
She placed 13th and swam an Olympic Trials qualifying time - 26.02.

Ben Wildman-Tobriner re-claims national title
Ben Wildman-Tobriner nearly followed in Torres' footsteps when he
fell just .04 shy of breaking the American record in the men's 50m
free. The reigning world champion re-claimed his national title when
he put a time of 21.80 on the board.
"Obviously, it feels great," Wildman-Tobriner said. "The field was
extremely fast. With Cullen, Roland and Nick out there, I knew
someone was going to go fast, and I was hoping to be one of those
people. I also knew this pool could lend itself to some good times,
and I was really excited to race." (Ben's sister Becky swims for Fog
City Masters.)

INTERNATIONAL MASTERS SWIMMING HALL OF FAME HONORS
JEAN DURSTON AND SUZANNE HEIM-BOWEN
The International Masters Swimming Hall of Fame will be inducting
Jean Durston and Suzanne Heim-Bowen during the United States Aquatic
Sports to be held at the Hyatt Regency.

Both Jean and Suzanne swam for Walnut Creek Masters. Jean passed away
a few years ago. At the Olympic Club Mile that was being held at the
Herbst Natatorium a few years ago, I saw Jean swim the 1650 and
during that event broke the 100, 200, 500, 1000 and 1650 records. It
was truly an awesome performance.

Five years ago at a USA Swimming regional meet where I was
officiating, Suzanne Heim-Bowen at an age group meet in the outside
lane swam the 1500 in 18 minutes flat. She was first in the heat, her
nearest competitor was just making the last turn at the other end of
the pool. Suzanne was 43 and the next oldest swimmer was 18. Suzannes
team was cheering her on, girls from the other teams were watching in
amazement as woman who was old enough to be their mother was womping
on her competitors in the pool.

If you would like to attend the ceremony contact the International
Swimming Hall of Fame:
