thanked her parents and especially her husband Phil.

breaking swims. Jean's daughter accepted the honor for Jean who
passed away in 2001.

2008 MASTERS INTERNATIONAL HALL OF FAME CLASS NAMED
The 2008 Class to be inducted into the International Swimming Hall of
Fame was named at the Induction ceremony. Among the inductees are

group. Every time he ages up he breaks all the records. Currently Bob
owns National Yards records 10 World Records(SCM/LCM and 15 National
Meter Records.

World Records, 11 Short Course Meters Records and a gaggle of
National records.

is part of the incoming class of 2008.

Aquatic Sports convention.

USMS SHORT COURSE YARDS CHAMPIONSHIPS COMING TO PACIFIC
At the 2007 USMS Convention the House of Delegates chose Clovis to be
the organizing committee for the 2009. The new Clovis North High
School will be the site of the Championships. The Championships will
take place in May 2009. The long course meters championships were
awarded to Indianapolis.

CHANGE IN CHAMPIONSHIPS SCORING RULE FAILS
Pacific Masters sponsored legislation to change the team scoring at
national championships. Pacific wanted to break up the scoring into
regional clubs (that have members from many places of a geographical
area (state teams)) and club teams that have a single pool or common
ownership. Under convention rules the change required a 2/3 majority.
It failed by 4 votes.

Next year Pacific Plans to reintroduce the measure. Next year it will
only require a simple majority and Pacific is hopeful it will easily
pass.

MAGERY MEYER INJURED
Margery Meyer broke her pelvis a week ago. She was at a triathlon
in Santa Cruz watching Marguerite and just before the start of the
swim someone knocked her over. Fortunately her husband, Bruce, an
orthopedic surgeon was there and able to quickly diagnose the
problem. She broke her pelvis. Everyone wishes her a speedy recovery.

ANNELIESE EGGERT PRESENTED THE USA SWIMMING AWARD
Anneliese Eggert was awarded the USA Swimming Award at the USAS
Sports Banquet in Anaheim California. Established in 1982, the USA
Swimming Award is the highest honor in the sport of swimming, given
to the individual or organization with the most outstanding
contribution to the sport of swimming.

Anneliese, a lifetime member of Pacific Masters, said she would share
this award with Walt, her husband of 60 years. She has been a member
of USA Swimming for 42 years, serving on the Officials Committee and
advisor to the Rules Committee. Besides Walt attended the banquet
with her children and grandchildren. Congratulations Anneliese!!
