14TH ANNUAL RENO "WINNERS" MEET
The 14th Annual Reno "Winners" Meet will be held Saturday, 1 December
2007 at the Northwest Pool in Reno, Nevada. The meet starts at noon,
so that swimmers from the Bay Area can make the four hour drive to
Reno the day of the meet. Remember Reno is at 4000 feet and that
there is not much time between events.

Officials clinics:
Pacific Masters is looking to recruit new officials to help out on deck
at our swim meets. We have been very short handed recently, and anyone
who can help out would be greatly appreciated. If you're going to a
meet, officiating is a fun way to fill in the time between your events!
If you are at all interested in becoming an official, there are some
clinics coming up soon:

* Saturday, November 10, at Rinconada Park, Palo Alto, 12-3 PM
* Saturday, December 15, at Foothills Swim and Tennis Club, Palo
Alto, 9-12 AM

If you plan to attend one of these clinics, please send an RSVP to Mark
Taliaferro, mtaliaferro at ucpaloalto.com.

For more information about becoming an official, check our web page at:
http://www.pacificmasters.org/officials/. Training is conducted by
Pacific Swimming; more information about clinics and officiating can be
found at their web site at
http://www.pacswim.org/page/member_officials.html.

CLUB REGISTRATION
Nancy Ridout thanks you in advance for your patience in renewing your
membership for 2008. USMS is changing its registration system for
2008 and the transfer of data, system differences, and the inevitable
glitches make it still not ready. Those of you who are used to
getting your cards within a week will find that it may take a bit
longer. The goal is to have it up and running next week. By the
way, the new web-based system will include on-line registration at
some point in the next year.

Many thanks to the following clubs who have already renewed for 2008.
PMS appreciates your timely registration that will allow your members
to renew and register as soon as we are able to input the data.
Those clubs that are not on this list are encouraged to get their
2008 club registrations in ASAP so your members will not have to wait
to register.

Individual and club forms can be downloaded from our web site at
www.pacificmasters.org. We're looking forward to an exciting year of
swimming in 2008!
