PACIFIC MASTERS MISSION STATEMENT:
As adopted by the Pacific Masters Committee the Mission of Pacific Masters is:

Pacific Masters Swimming welcomes anyone who would like to gain and
maintain fitness through swimming and encourages programs to foster
this mission.

PACIFIC MASTERS MONTHLY MEETING
The Pacific Masters monthly meeting will be a teleconference on
Wednesday 20 August. We will talk about the upcoming USMS Convention
and the Championships for next year. All are invited to participate.

The Second Annual Modesto Area Aquatic Club Short Course Meters meet

MEET RESULTS DATA BASE
USMS Has a new meet results data base, where swimmers can go on line
to see how they have done in individual events. The database covers
about four years worth of data and does not have all Pacific Masters
swims in it, but it does have many of them. Go see how you have been

USMS has oppened an office in Charlotte, NC where the Executive
Director and his assistant are working. Each club is invited to send
one of their swim caps. The caps will be put on the wall.

Rule Book Cover Contest
It's time to send your submission for the 2009 USMS Rule Book Cover
Contest. Camera-ready designs should be 5 1/2 inches wide by 8 1/2
inches high. Electronic artwork should be larger, to scale, with 300
DPI resolution, and CMYK color separation. Submissions must use the
phrases "United States Masters Swimming" and "2009 Rule Book" in the
design as well as the USMS logo (including trademark
sign). Send finished designs to USMS Rule Book Coordinator
Susan Ehringer at susanehr at usms dot org. All submissions become
the property of USMS; we will ask each contestant to sign a release.
Submittals are due by September 15, 2008.

2009 CALENDAR
Marcia Benjamin has sent out a request form for all clubs who wish to
have a pool meet or open water meet. If your club wished to have a
sanctioned meet, please contact Marcia an application to get on the
calendar.

A CHANCE FOR YOUR CLUB TO HAVE A SWIM CLINIC FEATURING DARA TORRES

ONLINE REGISTRATION
If you have not registered for Pacific Masters, you can register on
line. It is quick and easy and you can do it in the privacy of your
home. To compete you must be a current member of United States
Masters Swimming, if you go to a meet to register and compete, you
will just stand in line longer. By registering now you will get the
USMS Swimmer and all the benefits of being a member, besides
belonging to a group that has great people.

5K and 10K Long Distance Postal National Championships
The 5 K and 10 K Postal is swum between 15 May and 15 September.
This is a great way to swim a national championships at a local pool.
You must swim the event in a 50 meter pool. Further information is
