CHANGES IN CALENDAR
RUSSIAN RIVER SWIM MOVED LAKE SONOMA
The 2009 Russian River Swim has been moved to Lake Sonoma. It will be
on the same day. From the organizing committee "Swimmers itch is a
parasite that appears as a skin rash. It is an allergic reaction to
a small parasite that burrows into the skin. It is common in open
bodies of water, especially during the summer months. It has become
more prevalent in the Russian River in past years. The parasite,
also known as cercarial dermatitis is excreted by snails in the
water. With the low flow coming out of Lake Mendocino, there is a
higher percentage of shallow water and a greater likelylhood of
these snails in the Russian River. We have had 1 reported case, and
environmental health has posted signs in our Memorial Beach Park.

We want happy swimmers, not itchy swimmers."

SMMM SWIM AND EAT
The San Mateo Master Marlins Swim and Eat meet will be on Sunday 20 September.

FRESNO SCY SWIM
A SCY meet has been added to the calendar - Saturday 7 November at
the Clovis North High School Pool. This is the very fast pool that
hosted the 2009 US Masters Swimming SCY Championships. Thank you to
the Clovis Valley All Stars for organizing the meet.

TRANS-TAHOE
There were a couple of small changes to the results of the
Trans-Tahoe Race (Names of Teams). The results have been updated

US MASTERS SWIMMING CONVENTION

something while you are still dripping wet." He has a website
