CHANGE IN SWIM SUIT RULES
The FINA Bureaua meeting in Bankgok, Thailand, has approved the
Masters Committee recommendation that the swimwear be the same as for
the elite pool swimmers. They made the ruling effective 1/1/10. (two
weeks before the meeting) The USMS Rules Committee met by phone to
discuss the implementation for SCY. After the Rules Committee makes a
determination, that will be forwarded to the Executive Committee of
USMS. When information becomes available, it will be posted on the
USMasters Swimming web site and we will let you know via the update.

OPEN WATER SWIMWEAR
Open Water swimwear for both Men and Women, shall not cover the neck,
extend past the shoulder, nor shall extend below the ankle. All Open
Water swimsuits shall comply with the FINA Criteria for Materials and
Approval Procedures. Until June 2010, the 2009 models can be used in
order to protect the athlete from sunburn, jellyfish etc. Again the
Rules committee will issue a determination of how this will apply to
US Masters Swimming.

PLACES TO SWIM
US Masters Swimming has a Places to Swim spot on their web site:
http://www.usms.org/placswim/placswimform.php?LMSCID=38
It would be very helpful if each club checked its name, address and
swim times that are posted against actual. If there are any
corrections to be made, please fill out the form provided on the web
site.
