HAS THE CENTER OF MASTER'S SWIMMING HEADED EAST
Bob Seltzer, past president of New England Masters said in an recent
article in Swiminfo web site "You can make a pretty good case that
New England is the center of master's RACING in the US." He was
quoted after the 2002 New England Masters Championships where 12 SCM
world records were bettered (11 individual and 1 relay).

As later reported in Swiminfo "that proud comment got the dander up
of one Wayne McCauley, a coach in the Southern Pacific Masters
region. "How about a paper meet, SPMA vs. New England, using short
course meters meet times?," he suggested. "Then the real center of
Masters racing would be produced." "
