MANATEE FUND RAISER
The Manatees have committed to participate in this world wide aquatic
fundraiser for Terri Gathercole. Here's the website.
	http://www.SwimForTerri.org/EnterBriefSwimInfo
There's a page where teams can add the info on how and when they'll
participate. They are issuing a challenge to other Pacific Teams to
join this effort. The swim will take place on December 6, 2003, but
teams are encouraged to participate when they can as well.
Here's the most recent emails Brian Stack received from Rob Mather,
one of the organizers of the drive.

http://www.SwimForTerri.org/EnterBriefSwimInfo is the specific
webpage to visit to add very brief information about the swim you are
planning. Feel free to add that information now even though some of
the details may not be finalized. It aims to give all some sort of
idea as to who is swimming where and answers aren't meant to be super
precise. The sooner people add this simple information the sooner the
world map of dots will be an even more interesting information source
for people.

CLUBS TIME TO RENEW
In the renewing season, it is time for the clubs to renew membership.
Nancy cannot renew the membership of swimmers who are trying to
register with a club that has not renewed - she has to put those
registrations to the side. For swimmers who register with clubs that
have already re-registered for the 2004 year, she can register the
swimmer. Next issue of the Update will list the clubs who have
registered for 2004.

COACH NEEDED
The Eichler Swim & Tennis Club in Palo Alto is looking for a coach
for their swim team: the Eichler Gators. The team competes in the
local Junipero Serra Swim League. Coaching responsibilities include
running practices Monday through Friday from 4:30 to 7 PM and
coaching 6 dual meets and one championship meet. All meets are held
on Saturday mornings, beginning in June. Practices begin around the
first of April 2004 and the season closing championship meet will be
held in the third week of July 2004.

The team consists of approximately 100 kids between age 6 and 18.
Assistant coaches are available to assist with workouts and meets.
The team parents provide much administrative support and run the
meets, allowing the coach to focus on coaching the team. The coach
will also have the opportunity to teach private lessons at the club
for additional income.

The ideal candidate would have experience operating a swim team and
teaching swimming technique and have a knack for inspiring enthusiasm
and fun in the participating kids. He or she would also be open to
the possibility of returning to the position in subsequent years. The
position may be customized to fit the abilities, experience, and
needs of the candidate.

If you or anyone you know might be interested in this position,
please contact Peter Macdonald at pmacdonald at stanfordalumni.org or
650-493-7079 or Gil Chu at 650-856-0604.

Have a good week
