Sacred Heart High School, Atherton, California 22 April.
http://www.pacificmasters.org/comp/06menlolcm.pdf

The meet is this Saturday. It is a great place to get times for the
upcoming XI FINA World Masters Championships.

MONTHLY MEETING APRIL 19, 2005
Pacific Masters regular meeting will be the 19th of April at the
Heather Farms, Walnut Creek, California. the meeting start at 7:30.

The minutes for the all meeting from 2005 are posted, including the
November annual meeting. The minutes for the November Annual meeting
have been posted on the Pacific Masters web site.

RICHARD SMITH
Richard Smith suffered a heart attack after warming down from one of
his races. Thanks to the quick work of Craig Dennis and Mellissa
Wong, they were able to revive Richard, whose heart had stopped. They
lost his pulse and breathing. Performed CPR and broke out the AED
(defibulator).

You know he'll be OK because in typical Richard style, when they
asked him what day it was he said, "Of course I know what G*!-damn
day it is!" And, "Get me off of this thing!" (stretcher), and "Why
should I care who the President is!"
Dick had to go into surgery because the wire that was implanted dug a
hole in the heart. They found this by xray so they immediately took
him to major surgery to patch the hole and transplant the wire in a
different place. They told his wife that it may be 1-2 weeks before
he gets home. They will take him out of CCU when he is well enough.

Richard has been a stalwart of Pacific Masters Swimming and our best
wishes for a speedy recovery go out to him and his wife Joan.

PACIFIC MASTERS CHAMPIONSHIPS
This is the first time in about 15 years, I have not been to a
Pacific Masters Long Course or Short Course Yards Championship. I
will be giving a presentation on the XI FINA World Masters
Championships in Shanghai. I wish all the competitors the best of
luck and may everyone swim well and swim their best. (and have a lot
of fun).

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS - HALL OF FAME DINNER

The 2006 International Swimming Hall of Fame Honors Recognition
Dinner will be on Saturday, May 13th, 2006 in Fort Lauderdale. This
is the Saturday of SCY Nationals.

The Hall of Fame will be recognizing:
Jane Asher - GBR Honor Masters Swimmer
Joe Bottom - USA
Flip Darr - USA
Carlo Dibiasi - ITA
Tom Dolan - USA
Igor Milanovic - YUG
Susan O'Neil - AUS
Kieren Perkins - AUS
Alison Streeter - GBR
Xiong Ni - CHN

After the recognition, there is a Bug Greenspan Tribute.

Information is available at the International Swimming Hall of Fame Website .

Tickets for the dinner are $150/person, but it is tax deductible.

The Hall of Fame is a great repository of things associated with
swimming. If you have not been there, it is well worth the effort
when you are in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area.

The Hall is now under new management. Bruce Wigo has done a great job
of putting the hall back into shape. We can all be proud of what he
has done for our sport and we should support the Hall.

Swim Well - have fun
