Vern Scott Inducted into Triathlon Hall of Fame
Verne Scott, a long-time Masters swimmer and a former chairman of
Pacific Masters, will be inducted into the USA Triathlon Hall of Fame
as part of its inaugural class of inductees. In the 1980s Verne
dedicated his time and efforts to the establishment of the Triathlon
Federation (USA Triathlon) and served as the USA Triathlon executive
director.

Verne began his involvement in USMS in 1974 after years of
involvement in swimming at the age-group level, when he recognized
the lack of an adult program in Davis, Calif., and decided to
initiate a Masters program. In 1974, Verne started the Davis adult
program with 11 athletes; the Davis Masters program now has almost
700 members.

Vern's daughter, Patty, is the coach of Tuolumne County Aquatic Masters.

Congratulations Vern!!!

OPEN WATER SURVEY
This is a quick survey for open water swimmers and for swimmers who
wouldn't enter any body of water without chlorine or a black line at
the bottom. This will help the PMS open water event directors plan
for the next few seasons. The survey will stay open until November
19. Tell us what you think! Really...we want to know.
